Equality Objectives
Stokesay Primary School Equality Objectives
Specifically, to:
1. Promote a culture of fairness, respect, and inclusion where all individuals feel valued and supported to achieve their potential.
Why this matters:
We believe that every child and member of staff should feel a sense of belonging. By embedding fairness and respect into all aspects of school life — from classroom practice to playground relationships — we aim to foster positive attitudes, build strong self-esteem, and ensure all pupils are supported to succeed socially, emotionally, and academically.
2. Ensure that recruitment, retention, and professional development practices reflect our commitment to equality and diversity across the school community.
Why this matters:
A diverse and inclusive staff team brings a wider range of perspectives, experiences, and strengths into our school. We aim to ensure that recruitment practices are inclusive, that development opportunities are accessible to all staff, and that we retain and support a workforce that reflects the principles of equality and fairness.
3. Celebrate and support the diverse languages and cultures of our EAL learners, ensuring every child feels respected, included, and empowered to thrive within our values of respect, community, and determination.
Why this matters:
Our school community includes a growing number of pupils who speak English as an additional language. We aim to create an environment where home languages and cultural backgrounds are valued and visible. By supporting language development and fostering inclusion, we ensure EAL pupils are equipped to thrive both academically and socially.
