School Games Final
The children enjoyed the day at the School Games final in Shrewsbury Sports Village. The class were split with some of them competing in the T1 Rugby competition and the other half having a go at archery and golf. The children showed our school values of determination and teamwork. We were very proud of them especially for some it was the first time doing the activity.
Science this term
This summer the children are exploring the science unit 'Animals including Humans.' To start the topic off we made 'blood smoothies' so we could visualise the components of blood:
white blood cells: mini marshmallows
Red blood cells: Strawberries
plasma: pineapple juice
platelets: sprinkles.
It was a very interesting 'smoothie' Then in week two the children made their own clay hearts - with veins and arteries intact.
Come Dine with Me
This term the children are taking part in a cooking unit. They explored the five basic different tastes with a tasting lesson, exploring foods that were sweet, salty, bitter, umami and sour.
Then the children had to design a winning recipe. They had the criteria that the starter must include peppers, main had to be a pasta dish and the desert must include an apple.
Above are some of the pictures from our 'starter' cooking session. We tasted a pepper salad, stuffed peppers and pizza peppers.
