Year 1 had a great Topic Day. Their costumes looked amazing! The pupils made their own maps using teabags and learnt about two explorers: Christopher Columbus and Matthew Henson. They became explorers, going outside and exploring the forest school area with magnifying glasses.
In DT Year 1 practised food preparation skills. The children cut and juiced different fruits and then taste tested them afterwards. They prepared and cut strawberries, avocados, bananas and pineapples. Then the children juiced an orange, a lime and a lemon. Afterwards they had to choose two fruits and a juice as ingredients for their own smoothies. Then the children followed their recipe to make their own smoothies.
