Our first topic day was linked to our History topic-How are we making History? The children came dressed up as what they would like to be when they are older. We also looked at three photos of ourselves, a baby, a toddler and now which we ordered on a timeline. The class enjoyed trying to guess who was who from their baby photos. Year 1 finished the day with a music lesson from Rosie where they were thinking about loud and quiet sounds.
Year 1 have been enjoying Forest School sessions with Mr Lockley. They have been preparing the raised beds ready for planting and have been partaking in team building activities.
In Geography Year 1 have been learning about 'What it is like here?'. They began by looking at google earth and finding out what aerial view means. The children then moved on to create an aerial view map of the classroom before looking at the school grounds. The children used a map of the playground to locate some features such as trees, the play equipment and benches.
