Welcome to Stokesay Primary School

Autumn 25.

Topic Day!

To introduce our topics this half term, we enjoyed our first topic day. As we are focusing on 'Ourselves' and 'People Who Help Us', the children were invited to dress up as either what they would like to be when they grow up or someone who helps us. The children chose to dress up as firefighters, nurses, vets, and teachers! The children spent the day learning about the people who help us, what they do, and lots of fun topic-based activities and crafts.

To finish off the topic 'People Who Help Us', Reception & Nursery made some thank you cards for those who help us and walked around the local area to deliver them. We visited the local vets, doctors surgery, dentist, shop keepers, barbers and firefighters. Well done, everyone!

Reception have had a fantastic first term at school! We have enjoyed topics such as Ourselves, People who help us, Winter, & Christmas with the children showing values such as determination and teamwork in all areas of learningThe children have been working incredibly hard in Phase 2 phonics, taking part in lots of reading and fine motor activities to consolidate their soundsThey have also loved getting creative with Christmas crafts and taking part in our Twinkly Nativity performance – we hope you enjoyed watching it as much as the children have enjoyed performing. What a wonderful end to a brilliant first term in Reception!
